Clearer product errors and simplified Google settings

Feedcast5 min

Meta, Google, and Bing broadcast errors are explained more clearly, with next steps to follow. The Merchant Center form and Google Ads account creation gain clarity. Slovenian is now available, and the Feedcast agent takes into account the displayed period in Advertising.

In brief

  • Meta, Google, and Bing product errors now come with explanations and actionable steps.
  • Slovenian joins the available languages in several application pathways.
  • The Merchant Center form and Google Ads related steps are simplified and clarified.
  • The Feedcast agent tailors its responses to the selected period in Advertising.

Understanding product broadcast errors

Errors reported by Meta are now displayed in English, with an explanation and next steps, rather than as a technical code. You can find them in Catalog › Broadcast, on the product sheet, and in Catalog › Overview.

The explanations also cover more cases on Google and Bing:

  • Google: shipping costs not configured for a country, the "fake documents" rule, a product status inconsistent with the site, as well as rules regarding weapons and weapon parts and illegal drugs. When an error is incorrectly reported, the explanation indicates how to request a review.
  • Bing: missing product identifiers (brand and GTIN or MPN), a product page not found, a blurry image or one pending processing, a rejected offer, and various editorial evaluation reports: brands, tobacco, violent content, supplements, pharmacy, and adult content.

In total, 14 additional Google and Bing errors are explained. The relevant messages specify what the issue is and the next steps, in the same locations in the catalog: Catalog › Broadcast, the product sheet, and Catalog › Overview.

Creating a store or feed in Slovenian

Slovenian is now offered when creating a store, creating a new feed, and in targeting Google campaigns. If you create a store in Slovenia, it is offered in Slovenian by default.

Setting up Merchant Center from a single form

The setup for Channels › Google › Merchant Center is now done on a single page, organized into three blocks: Your Business, Delivery, and Returns. The previous three-step process has been replaced by a form where you can review the overall settings.

For delivery, you choose an option among free delivery, fixed price, free above a certain amount, or a pricing grid. The amounts entered are retained when you change options, and delivery fees are recorded from the first setup.

The form also helps you verify and correct your information:

  • A "preview on Google" indicates whether the setup is online or modified, and what will change. On mobile, each block also has a summary.
  • Input errors appear when you leave a field, with a message in English indicating what to correct. The bottom bar counts the remaining points.
  • Delivery times are entered on two lines, amounts are displayed in the format "€4.90", and countries as well as codes are presented in English.
  • "https://" is automatically added, and the postal code is verified according to the country.
  • Return options show their settings even when collapsed, and returns follow the delivery countries.

Your unsaved changes are protected: if you leave the page, a confirmation is requested. A "Return to Google" link allows you to go back to the channel details. If the connection is interrupted during saving, you can retry or contact support.

More clearly managing blocked Google Ads accounts

When a Google Ads account is suspended, canceled, or access is denied, the "Reconnect" button is replaced by "Contact Support". The application no longer offers to attempt a reconnection in these situations.

The status also better distinguishes blocked accounts from accounts that are not yet activated. If billing or the initial setup remains to be completed, the account is no longer presented as "Blocked Account": the login step opens the account verification, just like after its creation.

Creating a Google Ads account with clearer steps

If the creation of a Google Ads account is denied, a window explains the reason — for example, if the catalog has never been imported — without technical code or red box.

You can also correct the form without losing the information already entered: the name, email address, and currency are retained if you return from the confirmation screen. If your store does not have a project name, the proposed account name takes its domain instead of displaying "Feedcast - null".

After creation, the screen remains loading until the account status is updated. The "Verify your account" step then appears with billing and the invitation, alongside the other steps on the page.

Accessing Merchant Center after linking an Ads account

On the Google channel page, the Merchant Center block appears only once a Google Ads account is connected. Access to the Merchant Center is placed above the setup steps.

Once the setup is complete, the confirmation window is more subdued. It offers two stacked actions: "View my setup" and "Return to channels".

Feedcast agent responses adapted to the displayed period

In Advertising › Overview, the Feedcast agent now takes into account the selected period on the screen to tailor its responses. Its analyses are thus synchronized with the period you are viewing.
